With the onset of the coronavirus, more than ever before we seem to be coming together as a nation.
Take a moment and remember what you are grateful for.
How can you cultivate, create and craft a new mindset?
Could you even consider a whole new way of living?
Fresh food is becoming scarce.
Worry is creeping in.
Uncertainty of our future is a reality.
But what if this is how it's meant to be?
Giving us all a kick up the ass to truly consider what is important in our lives, in the world and universe beyond.
Dare I say loo roll!
More than ever we need to look after ourselves and others around us and create and cultivate a holistic way of living. Does it really matter if we can't buy toilet roll? Is this not a luxury that we could really do without, save money and unnecessary waste down our drains and beyond? As we spend more time at home, it is easier to have a quick wash after ablutions. Rather than sit in front of the TV, you may find after de-cluttering you could use old clothes for rags and nose blowing.
Soap and Glory
We do need to stick within strict guidance on hand-washing BUT going a little sparingly with the soap and taking the time to lather before rinsing can really give us some time to think about how much we waste. I'm not a fan of liquid soap for this very reason although I do have two dispensers in my Attic Studio (one non-scented and the other scented).
Food for Survival
Have you been wasteful with food in the past? Now is the time to take action and consider meal planning. I have always planned my meals for my week in advance. This helps to keep my weekly food budget to a healthy amount and always minimizes any need for waste. I get a little buzz out of planning my meals in advance because it really helps me to watch what I eat and also ensures that I spend quality time in the kitchen preparing. Did you know that if you have positive thoughts when preparing a meal this creates tastier dishes? Your positive energy will radiate towards the food and create positive taste patterns. That saying "food for thought"!
If you're a perpetual worrier and suffer from headaches and your usual rule of thumb is to reach for the paracetamol or ibuprofen now is the time to switch to yoga. You don't even need to move! Honest!! Lie on your back. Using only your nose to breath (in and out), inhale for a count of 3 and exhale for a count of 6. Continue this for around 10 minutes if possible. What else would you be doing if you popped pills? Watching the TV? Reading a book?
You will ignite the parasympathetic nervous system (sometimes called the rest and digest system). This conserves energy as it slows the heart rate, increases intestinal and gland activity. It will encourage you to calm down, reduce tension and alleviate that headache.
Also, go drink a glass of water (or two). You have it on "tap" [excuse the pun] and it will help you no end.
