I have a full time corporate role and I love it. I've had a varied and interesting career moving between law, human resources management and recruitment. My passion lies with the latter; supporting executives through a process towards their new role in a corporate business.
My business, White Branches, has now been in growth for 2 years. Almost 10 years in the making. As my knowledge grew so did my business and it also evolved into more than I could ever have imagined.
What has intrigued me is when I am asked "So, when are you going to do it properly?" In the beginning I used to poo poo this comment, laugh it off and just say something like "oh, I don't know...you know..."
As time went by and I was asked this question more regularly when I was asked for day-time appointments or "when are you going to offer day time yoga?", I started to feel that I was letting my customers, new and existing, down. But then, something shifted. I'd spent a long time studying for my 500 hours Yoga Teaching and I'm not going to lie, it was tough. I'm not a quitter but some days after re-sitting a submission more than once it did cross my mind. We are always learning as yoga teachers because you would not believe how much there is to learn! As soon as you finish one course, you're looking deeper into another modality.
This was the shift - "I am doing it properly"
Just because I'm not doing it 100% of my time doesn't mean I'm not doing it properly
Just because I'm limited to the appointments I can offer doesn't mean I'm not 100% committed
My goal is to support those who want to change to find the tools when there's no other hope. When medical intervention isn't working. When drugs aren't working. When you are literally at the end of your tether and you don't know what to do. That is my goal and that is what I do "properly".
If I don't know the answer, I will find out for you. If it is something I'm unfamiliar with, I will guide you to a specialist or provide suggestions for you to try.
