There is a stillness in the winter months as the earth begins the process of re-birth. Inside our homes we create warmth in response to the cold and dark. We turn up the heating, burn indoor fires and make hot food to keep us warm and settled.
We may sleeping longer and yearn for downtime, just like animals do in the wild.
Even if we live in a warmer climates, the longer nights and shorter days have the same effect on our cycles.
We should therefore surrender to our local time as nature intended and slow down, sleep more, and rest our minds.
Take this moment to consider what gifts of winter come your way, whether it is spending time with others over a warm beverage in front of a roaring fire, catching up with a good book or feeling the winter sun on your face.
